Prague IT Project Representing the Czech Republic in International IT Awards Programme

(Stockholm, February 2000) The project "March - Month of Internet" - BMI (www.brezen.cz) is joining IT-entrepreneurs from all over the world hoping to win the award for best practice of information technology in the Stockholm Challenge Award.

The forth annual campaign Month of Internet in the year 2001
(BMI)
BMI Association is a non-profit organisation, which provides a range of projects with the aim to support and promote possibilities of the Internet as of a modern marketing and communication tool.

The project called March – Month of Internet (BMI in Czech) has the aim to encourage use of the Internet as a tool for business, education and entertainment and has become very popular national event. It is an umbrella project, covering each year several projects, aimed on different target groups, under one logo. In co-operation with the main Czech media it creates the unique media channel to each citizen in the Czech Republic.

There are projects for the general public (such as Days of Internet in towns, To a library for the Internet, etc.), for children (as the First Child's Internet Conference Junior Internet), for business people (Internet &Business Live). Also there is a Round table “On the Way to the Information Society” for local and state administration. The project is accompanied by a large number of Internet-related articles and broadcasts created by independent experts and journalists to be published throughout the month of March. The motto of the Forth annual campaign: Internet is for everybody!
