TECNO - ZEINU Project The project looks for the optimal role of the Internet as a tool for audibly disabled people trying to improve their chance for their reinstalling back to the hearing society society. BMI Association contributes to the project with dissemination and organisational activities launching the Helpnet portal in the Czech Republic in co-operation with the AISO association. In the first stage it mainly maps the Information and Communication abilities of people who learn or teach Sign Language, and in the second row it will prepare a development of the Internet tool for that purpose. Questionnaires are being distributed among the pupils and teachers/lecturers around the country with the special stress on covering the group of quite healthy hearing students, who have chosen the sign language as the variant of another foreign language. The main part of the second stage (designing the tool) is on the promoter (Spanish) side while the rest of the partners will give their suggestions to the tool content and methods. Then, they will adapt it to the specific needs of their countries and take an initiative to validate it among the former questionnaires respondents and the others. The last stage will be the workshop followed by creating and mutual considering web pages of participant entities, which will become the main scene and test-room for the project’s results. The Leonardo Da Vinci 2001 project, promoted by ASIMAG (Spain), gathered partners of the following three countries: DEAF ASSOCIATION, ASIMAG and K.I. COMUNIC (Spain), LUETEC (Italy), COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE (Greece), BMI Association (Czechia)
