| New economy is characterized by permanent access to services according Czech companies 9.8.2002
The term new economy was born in connection with invasion of ICT to all spheres of economy. It is characterized first of all by enduring accessibility of services available every day in any time from anywhere according the results of a recent research made for TELE2 company and BMI Association by DEMA in 900 small firms up-to 100 employees around the Czech Republic.
Small companies up to 50 employees (almost 50%) comparing with the middle companies over 50 employees (30%) give this characteristic more often. Also respondents from Liberec region gave the characteristic most often (46%) while in Prague this opinion expressed the least of respondents from all the seven Czech regions where the research was performed (30%). More often has been the characteristic given by companies from health care (71 %), transport and communication (69 %).
The other most typical sign of the new economy is a speed of business transactions according to the research. This opinion is supported more often by mid companies (ca 33%) than by small ones (ca 20%); most often by companies from Prague (29 %) and travel companies (42 %). The third most typical characteristic of the new economy according the responding companies is “new ways of work and management” (15,2 %).
The results of the research including 90 different questions were exploited by the BMI Association during preparation of the special annex of the Green Book of e-Commerce, which has been adopted by the Czech government in January 2002. The more detailed analyze was given to working group, which is preparing the White Book of e-Commerce. The results of research show a strong demand for the education and activities explaining merits and benefits of e-Commerce.
