The conference has been invented by children and launched for the first time five years ago by the children’s on-line magazine eZavinac (www.ezavinac.cz) with help of the BMI Association (www.brezen.cz). „Projects of children introduced and awarded here were really extraordinary and some of them have reached a very professional level. Czech Republic shall be proud that such generation is growing here able to compete at the world level in the field of information technologies," said Mr. Mlynar, the Minister of Informatics after his visit of the conference. The conference is launched again under auspices of Minister Mlynar.

Four nomination competitions have been announced this year: For the children in the age of up-to fourteen years is the competition Junior text - to write the best essay with the Internet topic similar to the JuniorWeb competition of the best Web sites made by children. Webik is the competition of the best Web sites of children’s departments of public libraries.  For children above eight years is the JuniorProject competition of bigger Internet projects or Web sites. All the details about the mentioned competitions you can find at the www.juniorinternet.cz.

Successful participants of competitions will be invited to take part at the conference and winners will have a chance to introduce presentations of their projects. Also some interesting Internet projects for people with disadvantages will be introduced in the frame of the conference. Her Web sites will present for instance a blind schoolgirl Katka Svobodova.

Conference will be promoted also in Slovakia by the publishing house Perfekt from Bratislava, and the main media partner is there the Fifik children’s magazine.

Among main media partners is Česká škola (Czech School - www.ceskaskola.cz), Moje 1. noviny (My first newspaper - www.moje1noviny.cz), Škola online (School on-line www.skolaonline.cz) and VTM (Science and technique to Young people). Conference will be sponsored by companies giving gifts and awards for winners of competitions. 

Fifth annual conference Junior Internet is supported by European Union. Content of the project does not present an official position of the EU nor the National Agency nor brings any responsibility from that side.
