This year the BMI Association organized a lot of events:
For instance the Schola Nova fairs were co-organized with participation of BMI. The fair is focused on education in the INSPO 2004 - traditionally well promoted conference organized by the BMI with focus on the Internet and information systems for people with specific needs. There were very interesting people invited with the help of Prelude project: Gareth Huges of ERIS@, Tony Verelst of ISDAC, and Shadi Abou-Zahra of W3C. Their presentations contributed to a success of the conference. Junior Internet conference is one of the most popular events of the March- Month of Internet campaign. The conference was launched this year for the fifth time already – organized by children for children with the support of BMI. It is interesting to see how the children become young people and their young projects become mature but some of them are really professional. The conference was organized under the auspices of Minister of Informatics Mr. Mlynar. Two best projects of the annual competition are the www.freegame.cz (Hynek Zalcik) and www.bonsaimuseum.cz (Tomas Krcha). The ISSS conference is well known. BMI is co-founder of the event and organizes regularly a round table. It is also managing the public contest of the municipal Web sites. This year the small village Nemcovice won the Public Award of the best Web of the year (www.nemcovice.cz). The municipality is using not only Internet but also SMS to inform inhabitants of the village about the news. The very last point of the March – Month of the Internet is the Night with H.CH.Andersen. It became a good tradition already – children spent the whole night reading books, browsing through the Internet and getting in touch with many friends from all the participating libraries all around the country and even from neighbor
