| | | |  March 2004 5.11.2004 March became the most important period of year for the BMI Association. Seven years ago in 1997, the March-Month of Internet awareness campaign has been launched in the Czech Republic for the first time. In 2004, the BMI organized a lot of events - including very interesting meetings with people of the international Prelude project. INSPO 2004 conference in Prague 3.2.2004 BMI activities are focused on basic service delivery topic in the frame of the Prelude project. The important campaign where the BMI took its’ name from is the March –Mont of Internet (Brezen Mesic Internetu). The March is approaching bringing the INSPO conference - the very important event, which combines a promotion of the Internet with the theme of basic services for people with specific needs. The 4th annual INSPO 2004 will take part in March, 13th in the Congress Centre of Prague, and a strong international participation is expected this year. New initiative in the frame of Prelude 16.12.2003 The PRELUDE project is entering the final stage. There is a good communication of different partners not only inside the defined clusters but sometimes new thematic working groups come together to rise up new questions answering different thematic priorities. Regional informatics in the Vysocina Region 16.12.2003 The end of year brings the opportunity to look back at the results of the past initiatives. Vysocina Region does not belong to big or economic strong regions of the Czech Republic but has a great vision - to become one of the most important “information” regions. That is one of the reasons of the Vysocina participation in the Prelude project. Vysocina launching conference of four regions 9.9.2003 Czech regional partner of the Prelude project the Vysocina Region recognises that after joining of the European Union, national borders between the Czech Republic and Austria disappear. How the change will be reflected in minds of people and how to dissolve the borders in behaviour of institutions on the both sides of the border will be the core question of the coming conference. Leaders of the Vysocina Region assume the necessity of intensification of mutual contacts and better understanding of each other in the process of European accession. Vysocina Region supports IT ... 26.6.2003 Popularisation of information technologies in the Vysocina region Month of Internet 2003 - Arising interest 17.4.2003 The Month of Internet campaign was launched for the first time in 1998 already. The number of Internet users in the Czech Republic was estimated to 250 000 people that time. According the last figures – more than 3 Million of users are accessing Internet each month, and Internet has in general more than 2,5 Millions of users in our country now. Despite on that March-Month of Internet campaign is still attracting huge interest. INSPO 2003 for Internet without barriers 24.3.2003 Internet is a very efficient tool of communication and resocialization of people with disadvantages helping them come over their handicap. It is not simple task to learn to use it the right way but it brings sensitive advantages in the communication with the rest of the society and helps to find a work. This is a main conclusion of the conference “INSPO 2003 – Internet and information systems for people with specific needs”, Prague, March 22. More than 130 people from all around the country attended the conference. INSPO 2003 program 28.2.2003 INSPO 2003 conference is one of the core event of the March-Month of Internet campaign. The program is already available. Vysocina Region strengthening partnership 15.10.2002 Vysocina Region in cooperation with BMI Association launched the Czech Web sites of the Prelude project. The logo of Prelude has been placed on the home page of the Vysocina region and the relevant link leads the visitors to the basic information about the Prelude project in Czech. Do Helpnet.cz portal with us! 26.9.2002 The last project of the BMI Association is to build-up the Helpnet.cz Web portal focused on problems of people with special needs. Confirmed - PRELUDE in the Czech Republic 10.7.2002 The agreement between European Comission and Prelude project extension finaly signed. PRELUDE is a EU project financed by the European Commission as an accompanying measure to the IST programme. IST PRELUDE project extension 10.6.2002 BMI Association joined the PRELUDE project.From the side of the Czech partner the objectives of the PRELUDE will be achieved by a synergy of regional (Vysocina Region) and national (BMI Association) activities, related to the development of basic services involving Local and Regional governments.
