| | | |  March 2004 5.11.2004 March became the most important period of year for the BMI Association. Seven years ago in 1997, the March-Month of Internet awareness campaign has been launched in the Czech Republic for the first time. In 2004, the BMI organized a lot of events - including very interesting meetings with people of the international Prelude project. INSPO 2004 conference in Prague 3.2.2004 BMI activities are focused on basic service delivery topic in the frame of the Prelude project. The important campaign where the BMI took its’ name from is the March –Mont of Internet (Brezen Mesic Internetu). The March is approaching bringing the INSPO conference - the very important event, which combines a promotion of the Internet with the theme of basic services for people with specific needs. The 4th annual INSPO 2004 will take part in March, 13th in the Congress Centre of Prague, and a strong international participation is expected this year. Junior Internet goes International 23.1.2004 Junior Internet conference is here again! Participants from Slovakia and closer focus handicapped on Internet users – those changes are the most remarkable ones for the children’s annual conference Junior Internet 2004. It will be launched in March 20, 2004 as one of the main events of the March – Month of Internet. Only those who will come successfully through one of the four just announced competitions will be invited to take part at the conference. Vysocina Region - the best friend of open information 3.10.2003 Vysocina Region has been rated the most open region in the competition "OPEN x CLOSED". The prize was given to the hands of the governor of the Vysocina Region Mr.Dohnal. Month of Internet 2003 - Arising interest 17.4.2003 The Month of Internet campaign was launched for the first time in 1998 already. The number of Internet users in the Czech Republic was estimated to 250 000 people that time. According the last figures – more than 3 Million of users are accessing Internet each month, and Internet has in general more than 2,5 Millions of users in our country now. Despite on that March-Month of Internet campaign is still attracting huge interest. INSPO 2003 for Internet without barriers 24.3.2003 Internet is a very efficient tool of communication and resocialization of people with disadvantages helping them come over their handicap. It is not simple task to learn to use it the right way but it brings sensitive advantages in the communication with the rest of the society and helps to find a work. This is a main conclusion of the conference “INSPO 2003 – Internet and information systems for people with specific needs”, Prague, March 22. More than 130 people from all around the country attended the conference. Junior Internet – space for cutes 21.3.2003 Age makes no differences for Internet funs – skills are much more important. The recent children conference Junior Internet has confirmed the truth. The conference has been launched with a huge interest of more than 200 children in the age of 8 to 18 from all the Czech Republic, and also from Slovakia. This year the conference became an international event for the first time. INSPO 2003 program 28.2.2003 INSPO 2003 conference is one of the core event of the March-Month of Internet campaign. The program is already available. Brezen started under Angel’s wings 28.2.2003 
The traditional campaign March-Month of Internet (Brezen-Mesic Internetu) has been started yesterday in the Angels` hotel in Prague by the press conference. In his opening speech there, Minister of Informatics of the Czech Republic Mr. Mlynar pointed out the approved value of the campaign for the promotion of Internet in our country. Junior Internet – enormous interest 10.2.2003 Almost 200 application forms came to hands of masterminds of the 4th children’s conference Junior Internet. The registration closing date is today - February 10. This year a record number of contenders are expected. The best competitors will be invited to attend the conference, which will take place in the Klub Lavka in Prague, in March 8, 2003. The Junior Internet conference will be transmitted live at http://live.atlas.cz. The conference is held under the auspices of the Minister of Informatics Vladimír Mlynáø; the main partner of the project is Intel CZ company. INSPO 2003 Conference - Call for participation 3.2.2003 This year, one of the most important event of the March-Month of Internet campaign will without any doubts the INSPO 2003 conference launched under the slogan – Internet and information systems for persons with special needs. Mr. Ramiro Cibrian, Ambassador of the European Delegation in Prague, will open the conference on Saturday, March 22 in Congress Centre, Prague. The programme is almost finished and the registration form will be published soon for attendees of the conference. March – Month of Internet under the auspices of Delegation of the European Commission 23.1.2003 The popular Czech nationwide campaign March-Month of Internet will be launched under the official auspices of the Delegation of the European Commission in 2003. The annual campaign has been organised by the BMI Association already six times, and this year will bring a lot of events, conferences, workshops, meetings and contests focused on popularisation of Internet and dissemination of best practise on how to use it under the device “Internet without barriers”. This year the campaign has in sight the Internet as a tool of elimination different barriers of the life of disabled people. Do Helpnet.cz portal with us! 26.9.2002 The last project of the BMI Association is to build-up the Helpnet.cz Web portal focused on problems of people with special needs. Helpnet – new portal for persons with special needs 4.7.2002 The AISO Association introduced the idea to launch a new portal focused on providing information for handicapped people at the recent conference INSPO 2002 – Internet and information services for persons with special needs in Prague. There was discussed a question of optimal cooperation of existing Czech Web sites at one of the sessions of the conference. Based on the conclusions of the discussion - the board of directors of AISO decided to start works on the new portal called Helpnet. The BMI Association already registered the domain name Helpnet.cz. Month of Internet 3.5.2002 Month of Internet is an umbrella project, covering each year about 15 projects, aimed at different target groups, under one logo. In co-operation with the main Czech media it creates the unique media channel to each citizen in the Czech Republic.
